  • All over the place, all the time.

I need to get shit together, seriously.

I have a problem. I am the most unorganized, all-over-the-place type of person. At least in the last few years. Every morning is a race, I am all over the place, can’t find things, getting dressed, fixing myself up to look presentable, preparing the to-go breakfast, and lunch, choosing snacks, etc.

I need to be better at planning my days and reduce being scattered. I used to, just don’t know at what point I fucked up. I could probably figure it out if I think hard about it but I am lazy.

I remember back then when I was taking a course about productivity, I think it was Shawn Blanc, years ago, and its first exercise was to pick our outfight the night before. Such a small task made a difference. And yes, that is all I remember about that course, and maybe because I never followed through with the whole thing.

I need to stop fooling around and start planning better and being more organized.

  • This lady turns 7 this weekend, Sunday the 5th. Today was subway day, the school orders subway sandwiches, with our monies, and we [the parents] get to stop by and have lunch them kiddos. Marley was a happy camper.

  • A game I have been... re-playing

Assassin's Creed Valhalla | UPlay PC Game

    Shocked? You shouldn't be 😉

This game was originally released on November 10, 2020, and as the massive AC fan that I am, I played the heck out of this game, for a little over 120 hours, on the Xbox One back then. I must say, this is probably my favorite assassins creed game, so far. I mean, you've got Vikings and Norse mythology.

Now, why am I re-playing this game, in 2023? Well, a lot has come out since then and I have been having the itch or playing it for a while. So there are a few DLCs out that I never got to play,

    • Dawn of Ragnarök.
    • The Siege of Paris.
    • Wrath of the Druids.

Not only that, but they [Ubisoft] have continued releasing packs for the game, packs that include new armor, weapons, mounts, etc, and that's how they get me, every time! With a new pack acquired and the DLCs, it kind of feels like a new game. Plus this game looks amazing still. I also noticed a few new options and quality-of-life improvements, but I am not sure if they have always been there and I just don't remember, since it's been so long, either way, I am game.

The thing about this game is it's so massive, that even though I played this game at least twice, in its entirety, I still find new ways to go about it or things I didn't notice before, something I hear a lot from people that replay games like Skyrim, for example. These games are so big in scope that you have free range on how to play them and make your story.

Now, let us see how many hours until I play the main story and every DLC... I may even no longer post here for a while.

    Nice knowing you all!

  • No time to fiddle-fart these last few days at work. Moreover, barely any sleep, which makes me exhausted and with no energy for working out. Well, both no energy and no motivation.

Oh, and, I was getting my “state of the backpack” for the beginning of 2023 post but, ugh, again, no time. Plus, I’m getting a new work computer so, gotta wait and do retakes 📸😋.

  • New-ish HomePod

I remember purchasing the Original Homepod back in February of 2018, a day or two after its release date. Previously, I was using one of them Amazon Echoes. The price difference between the two was considerable. And to be honest, I purchased the HomePod, primarily out of, well, it was an impulsive buy. I walked into my local BestBuy, walked by the Apple products section, and saw they had one, just The One!

There is something about, The One. Many times, I walk into a store, any kind of store, electronics, gaming, or comic books. And many of those times, I have no intention of buying anything, I am just browsing, killing time. Until I see something that sort of interests me and it happens to be the last one on the shelf.

My heart starts pumping, I get sweaty, and my palms get itchy…

“What if is this the last time I see one?

“I need to get this, like right meow!”

And that’s how the decision to purchase a HomePod was made. I believe the Nintendo Switch was the same scenario, back when they were in short supply.

So it’s have been about 5 years since then, and it is still rocking my socks! It gets played every single day while cooking, cleaning, at family gatherings, and even playing Clean Up for the girls so they’d pick up. We still use it for timers, entering reminders, and asking Siri in the tube for silly stuff.

Us: Hey, Siri! What does the fox say?

    Siri: Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding

    Or something like that.

Now, in recent days, like Monday, Apple announced a “new” HomePod, and I am excited about it. Though I am not excited because of anything new, if anything at all, I truly haven’t read into the specs or watched any videos. I am excited because I know, that if my OG HomePod goes kaput, as in broken and useless; no longer working or effective, I can now replace it, and I don’t have to go around shopping for something comparable.

  • Yikes!

I don’t generally call for anyone to be fired, but an App Store reviewer who cannot see how Ice Cubes “differ[s] from a mobile web browsing experience” is an embarrassment to the company, and providing fodder for every frustrated developer who thinks Apple has completely lost its way as a company and platform steward that respects the work of independent developers…

    Papa-John has spoken!

I have never – and probably never will – been able to understand how things like these happen to developers with Apple. Not the first time I’ve seen something stupid like this happen and probably not the last – sadly.
